The Turkish Gambit



The Turkish Gambit is a strange book. It's told from the point of view of Varvara Suvorova, a woman who makes her way to the camp of the Russians during the Russo-Turkish War to see her fiance. Upon her arrival she find that he has been arrested of treason. She herself is able to keep her position in her camp due to the kindness of Erast Fandorin. She enlists in his help to prove her fiance's innocence chasing after the mysterious undercover agent by the name of Anwar Effendi. To find him, Varvara and Erast will have to navigate the fields of warfare and politics and as the sabotage grows more severe, and the danger spreads from the frontline, the fate of the Russo-Turkish war is thrust into their hands.
